Overview of Scientific Workplace

Scientific Workplace software provides mathematical word processing, LaTeX typesetting and computer algebra. Scientific Workplace is available to VCU researchers on the App2Go Citrix Server.

When you use Scientific Workplace on the App2Go server, it appears to be running on your PC.
You can open and save files on your PC and print on your PC.

There are three (3) concurrent use licenses of Amos available for use on the App2Go Server.

Use Scientific Workplace on the App2Go Server

Using a Windows, Mac or Linux computer, you are able to access Scientific Workplace via a browser window. Although Scientific Workplace runs on the App2Go Server, it appears to be running on your PC. You can open, save and print files from your PC. Applications on the App2Go server are available to support research projects and are not intended for instructional use.

Only current VCU faculty, staff and students may request an App2Go account to access Scientific Workplace on the App2Go Server. Documentation on how to use of the App2Go Server will provide you details such as system requirements, installation, opening files, saving files and printing.
