Software Description: Latent Gold is a powerful latent class and finite mixture program. Current VCU faculty, staff and student may access Latent Gold on the App2Go Server at no charge.

Latent Gold Overview 

Latent Gold is a powerful latent class and finite mixture program. Latent GOLD contains separate modules for estimating three different model structures:

  • LC Cluster models
  • DFactor models
  • LC Regression models

When using Latent Gold on the App2Go Server, it appears to be running on your PC.  From computers with Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems you are able to run Latent Gold in a browser window.  You can open, save and print files from your PC while using Latent Gold on the App2Go Server.  Applications on the App2Go server are available to support research projects and are not intended for instructional use.

Current VCU faculty, staff and students may request an App2Go account  to access Latent Gold on the App2Go server.  Documentation on how to use the App2Go Server will provide you details such as system requirements, installation, opening files, saving files and printing.


Latent Gold First Time User - License Registration Required 

After you are issued an App2Go account, you must register a license the first time you use of Latent Gold on the App2Go server.  To register a license, you must do the following.

  1. Login to the App2Go server
  2. Select the "Data Mining & Qualitative Analysis" Folder
  3. Select the "Latent Gold and SI_CHAID" folder
  4. Select "Instructions to Register LatentGOLD"
  5. Follow the instructions to Register Latent Gold.

Latent Gold License Information

There are Five (5) concurrent use licenses of Latent Gold  available for use by VCU researchers on the App2Go Server.
