App2Go Server Information:

Software Description: Amos is SPSS, Inc.'s Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) software. Current VCU faculty, staff and students may access Amos on the App2Go Server at no charge.

Platform: Access from Windows, Mac or Linux
Cost: No charge for current VCU students, faculty and staff

Overview of Amos

Amos is SPSS, Inc.'s Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) software. 
Details on Amos Features are available at the SPSS, Inc. website. 

Using a Windows, Mac or Linux computer, you are able to access Amos via a browser window. Although Amos runs on the App2Go Server, it appears to be running on your PC. You can open, save and print files from your PC. Applications on the App2Go server are available to support research projects and are not intended for instructional use.  

Only current VCU faculty, staff and students may request an App2Go account to access Amos on the App2Go Server. Documentation on how to use of the App2Go Server will provide you details such as system requirements, installation, opening files, saving files and printing.

Amos License Information

There are five (5) concurrent use licenses of Amos available for use on the App2Go Server.

Obtain a personal copy of Amos

  • Download free Amos Student Version   
    Students may download a free Amos Student version, which is limited to eight(8) observed variables and fifty-four (54) parameters.
  • Purchase a personal copy of Amos 
    Students:  Amos is included in the SPSS GradPack which is sold thruough third party resellers.  
    Faculty or staff:  Amos perpetual licenses are available at academic discount.  Purchasing annual maintenance (to obtain product updates)  is recommended.
