Clean Access

Software Description: Clean Access is used in conjunction with a software application installed on the desktop called the Clean Access Agent.

Platform: Windows
Cost: None

Outbreaks of viruses and worms cause interruptions to network services and degrade network performance. In order to reduce these problems, VCU Residential Network Services is taking steps to protect student computers and ultimately the network that we all share. This protection is provided by a network admission system called Clean Access (CA).

Clean Access is used in conjunction with a software application installed on the desktop called the Clean Access Agent. This agent ensures that all computers attempting to log onto the network have sufficient virus protection and system updates installed before that machine can access the network.

Note: The implementation of Clean Access (CA) will begin in the dorms on the Monroe Park Campus in January 2007. The implemention of Clean Access for the dorms on the MCV campus will take place in February or March 2007. Students residing in the MCV campus dorms will be notified prior to the implementation of CA in their dorms.
