Web Content Management (#957)

Web Content Management System (Open Text CMS)
VCU uses Open Text CMS (formerly RedDot CMS) for their web content management system. A content management system has three main purposes: (1) provides centralized location for web site content and assets (images, nonHTML files) (2) develops archives and versions of the content (3) allows non-technical users to easily enter, update, and publish the content of their websites.

Requirements
In order to use Open Text CMS, the user must have the following:

  • A VCU website with content (site size does not matter)
  • FTP account to the web server that site is published to
  • A VCU eID
  • Depending on your department there may be financial requirements (find out more)
