• SAS® 9.2 System Requirements for Windows

1. Obtain a Personal Copy of SAS 9.2®

A personal copy of SAS® 9.2 for VCU teaching and research use is only available through the DVD Exchange:

1. For Windows XP and Windows Vista users (SAS 9.2 TS1M0) - 1 DVD:
   
   1. Bring one (1) blank DVD to the Technology Services Help Desk to exchange for the SAS® 9.2 TS1M0 installation DVD
      • Cabell Library, Room B-30 - During walk-in hours
      • Sanger Hall, Room B1-018 - During walk-in hours  
   2. If no pre-copied stock is on hand at the time of your request, you can leave your contact information and you will be advised when you can return with the blank DVD to pickup the pre-copied SAS® 9.2 installation DVD. 
   3. Then, use the 1 SAS® 9.2 DVD to install on your PC. 
2. For Windows 7 users - (SAS 9.2 TS2M2  32-bit) - 4 DVDs:
   1. Bring four (4) blank DVD to the Technology Services Help Desk to exchange for the SAS® 9.2 TS2M2 installation DVD set
      • Cabell Library, Room B-30 - During walk-in hours
      • Sanger Hall, Room B1-018 - During walk-in hours  
   2. If no pre-copied stock is on hand at the time of your request, you can leave your contact information and you will be advised when you can return with 4 blank DVDs to pickup the pre-copied SAS® 9.2 installation DVD. 
   3. Then, use the 4 SAS® 9.2 TS2M2 DVD set  to install on your PC.  
3. For Vista 64-bit:
   1. To request SAS 9.2 for Windows X64 Installation media  (2 DVDs ) -
      Note: Windows 7 X64 users may install 32-bit SAS 9.2 TS2M2

Install Hot Fixes for SAS® 9.2 TS1M0

Hot fixes are software patches for SAS products that fix known bugs, problems, etc.  Install the latest SAS® Hot Fixes to Ensure Proper Calculations and Processing!! There are two types of Hot Fixes:

1. ALERT Level Hot Fixes:

These Hot Fixes correct critical problems. ALERT issues are problems that you need to be aware of before you install or use the software. These may include, but are not limited to security, data integrity and incorrect output. ALERT Level Hot Fixes are indicated in red on the SAS Hot Fix Downloads website.

Example:  Incorrect calculations in a statistical procedure.

Important Alert Level Hot Fixes for SAS 9.2 

The following "Alert Level" Hot Fixes should be installed IF you use the following SAS® Procedures:

SAS Procedure Name	Apply these Alert Level Hot Fixes to SAS 9.2 TS1M0
PROC GENMOD	F9ST06
PROC GLIMMIX	F9ST02
PROC POWER	F9ST03
PROC SQL	F9BA29

2. Regular Hot Fixes:

These fix known, non-critical problems.  See SAS' Hot Fix FAQs.

Example: Incorrect font on a graph. 

To Download Hot Fixes:

1. Determine which Hot Fixes you need:
   1. Check the SAS 9.2 Hot Fix Downloads website forWindows for the products that you have installed (such as BASE SAS, SAS/STAT)
   2. Note that some newer Hot Fixes require installation of older Hot Fixes (read the details).
2. Select each Hot Fix download file from the SAS 9.2 Hot Fix Downloads website and save the file to your computer.
3. Double-click the file you downloaded to launch the installation process.
4. Follow any instructions provided.
5. Installation is typically very fast.
6. After installation, don't forget to remove each of the .exe files from your computer (such as F9BA07wn.exe).

Install Hot Fixes for SAS® 9.2 TS2M2 (for Windows 7) - Apply SAS 9.21_M1 HotFixes

Hot fixes are software patches for SAS products that fix known bugs, problems, etc.  Install the latest SAS® Hot Fixes to Ensure Proper Calculations and Processing!!
