You can also submit your site to the VCU A to Z list if it is a department web site. If you are a faculty or staff member you can submit your site to the Faculty and Staff web page list. Student Organizations can list their site on the Student Organization Directory. There is also a list of VCU Centers and Institutes. By listing your site on these highly traveled pages, more people will see the link to your site and this means more potential visitors.

Word of mouth is the best way to advertise a web site. If your site is informative and kept up to date, then visitors will pass on the address to their friends and colleagues. Sites that are rarely updated are usually rarely visited. Visitors to your site do not want to see the same thing every time. By giving them new information you are giving them a reason to come back to your site.
