If You Downloaded SAS 9.1.3

If you downloaded SAS 9.1.3 from the VCU software download website, you have downloaded two "image" files onto your PC (also known as "ISO image" files):

  • SAS913/SAS913Win_SetupDisk.ISO
  • SAS913Win_SoftwareDisk1.ISO

These image files contain within them the various files needed to install the SAS program. These files have to be extracted from the two image files and burned (written) onto two blank CDs. This process will create two SAS installation CDs.

The PC on which you downloaded the image files must have a CD drive installed that can burn (write) CDs, and it must have appropriate software installed for CD burning.

If your PC is so equipped, after the two files have been downloaded:

1. Double-click on the icon for the downloaded SAS913Win_SetupDisk.ISO file on your PC.
This should launch your CD burning software. Make sure your CD burning software is setup to burn a data CD (not a music CD).

2. Follow the directions presented by the software for specifying the location of the image file, selecting the recording speed, etc., and for starting the CD burning process. The software will then extract the files from the image file and burn them onto the CD.

3. Label this CD "SAS 9.1.3 for Windows Setup Disk / Service Pack 4".

4. Double-click on the icon for the downloaded SAS913Win_SoftwareDisk1.ISO file on your PC.
This should launch your CD burning software.

5. Follow the directions presented by the software for specifying the location of the image file, selecting the recording speed, etc., and for starting the CD burning process. The software will then extract the files from the image file and burn them onto the CD.

6. Label this CD "SAS 9.1.3 for Windows Software Disk 1".

Note: In Steps 1 and 4, if you double-click and your CD burning software does not launch, you will have to launch it manually. For example, if your CD burner program is Roxio Easy CD Creator (a popular CD burning program), launch this program and then pull down the File menu and select Record CD from CD Image. If you have a different CD burner program, it should have a similar feature for handling image files.
