Firefox Setup

Firefox is the new browser from Mozilla. It is optimized to protect the user from pop-ups and spyware. Firefox also complies with the web standards that web designers use to build their pages.

VCU is recommending the Firefox browser due to the security flaws in the Internet Explorer browser.

To Install:

1. Simply click the download link(Windows, MAC OSX).
   Your Internet Explorer favorites will automatically be available to Firefox.
2. Save the file to your desktop or some other folder.
3. Open the Firefox Setup file.
4. When the Firefox Install window appears, click Next.

   

5. You must agree to the Terms and Conditions of the License, then click Next.

   

6. Choose the "Standard" Setup, click Next.

   

7. Here is a summary of what will be installed, click Next to start the Installation.

   

8. Please wait while Firefox installs. This should only take a minute.

   

9. Firefox is now installed, click Finish to start using Firefox.

   

10. If you had previous Mozilla components they will be checked for compatibility with Firefox. Click the Check Now button to see if they are compatible.
