Test Grading Tips

Note: Scan sheets are provided for test grading purposes only.

Below are just a few tips that should help your test grading needs run smoothly. Processing of each test requires a Test Grading Services Request form and should be filled out as follows:

1. Include following information:
   • Instructor's Name
   • Date
   • Course ID (i.e. NURS 123 001)
   • Person Who Will Pick Up Tests
   • Phone Number
   • Last 10 Digits of your VCU ID
2. Other items to be filled out include Delivery Options, Format Options and Select Output Options.
3. Completing Main Answer Key:
   • Include Test number and bubble in correctly.
   • Social Security Number (SSN) field is always 000000001. Be sure to bubble in correctly.
   • Test Name
   • Bubble in the correct answer for each question.
   
   
   Note: For questions with more than one answer, see Tip 5 below
   
4. If you omit answers on a test, please erase the answers from the main key.
5. If you want alternate answers (questions with more than 1 correct answer), complete an alternate answer key. Alternate keys are different from main keys. The main answer key is indicated by the SSN grid being filled in with 000000001. Each alternate must have only 1 response. Therefore, the first alternate key must be indicated with the SSN grid as 000000002, and the second alternate as 000000003 and so forth.

Completing Alternate Answer Key:

• Social Security number field is 000000002. If you have a single question that has multiple acceptable answers, one answer is placed on the main answer key. Each additional answer requires an alternate answer key to be filled out.
• Example: Question #4

• If you have several questions with one alternate answer, you will need a single Alternate Key.
