Optical Scanning Services
Media and Computing Services provides a variety of optical scanning services on both the Monroe Park and MCV Campuses. To request optical scanning service, obtain a Request for Optical Scanning Form from the Monroe Park Campus at the TS Help Desk in the basement of Cabell Library (Cabell B-30) or the MCV Campus in the basement of Sanger Hall (B1-001). Complete and return the form with key and scan sheets for processing. Please read below for specific scanning information for each campus.
Monroe Park Campus - Test Grading, Survey, and Faculty/Course Evaluations Services
The TS Help Desk performs scanning for two types of optical scan sheets.
- The Test sheet allows for coding of up to 200 five-choice responses.
- The Survey sheet allows for the coding of 80 five-choice responses.
Standard output for test sheets includes a grade report and test analysis. In addition, faculty may request delivery output in the form of print, e-mail, or disk (if disk output is requested, the user must supply a blank disk).
A separate request form and key sheet must be provided for each scan job. Test results may be picked up on the following business day. Scan jobs submitted after 4:00 PM will be available after noon the following business day. To confirm that the scan job is ready for pickup, call the TS Help Desk at 828-2227.

MCV Campus - Test Grading and Faculty/Course Evaluations Services
Media and Computing Services on the MCV Campus offers test grading and optical scanning services outlined below:
- Computer grading of multiple choice and true/false tests. There is a 24-hour turnaround on the production of test grading requests.
- Faculty and Course evaluation forms. Turnaround time is 24 hours. For large quantity scanning (over 300 sheets), turnaround time may be longer than normal.
