Purchasing Hardware/Software at VCU
Computer hardware and software can be bought either by Departments for their employees use on the job or by individuals for personal use.
Departmental Procurements
University Computing Service units on both campuses provide assistance with procurement procedures; assist in writing RFPs and IFBs and give follow-up assistance when problems arise. Personal Purchases
Faculty, staff, and students are eligible to purchase microcomputer hardware and software (both PC and Macintosh) at discounted prices through either Online@VCU on the Academic Campus or the MCV Campus Bookstore on the MCV Campus.
In addition, students, faculty, and staff may make personal (or departmental) purchases of hardware from Apple Computer, Dell Computer and from Gateway, via special pricing offers. You may obtain product information and place orders as follows:
- Apple Computer: Apple products may be obtained at discounted prices through either Online@VCU on the Academic Campus or the MCV Campus Bookstore on the MCV Campus.
- Dell Computer: Follow the directions and links presented on this Dell procurement page and subsequent pages to access the Dell Premiere Page and then Your Dell Store. During this process, you will be prompted to login -- enter the following User Name and Password:

- Lenovo: Students can purchase Lenovo Computers from the Student Computer Initiative Page. Faculty and Staff purchases can be made from this site.
