Geographical Information System ArcIMS Server
The GIS Data Server houses large quantities of GIS data and provides internet access to data using ESRI's ArcIMS. Some data has been purchased, other data was free and other data has been privately collected for research. Whoever 'owns' the data will determine the type of access to the data.
Getting an account on the ArcIMS Server
- If you have collected research data and would like to use it with GIS, you will need an account on this server.
- You must be a VCU faculty, staff or graduate student, to obtain an account.
- The request for an account will be reviewed for approval (to determine the amount of disk space and other resources that are needed).
- Once approved and created, you may load your data and begin creating the maps and layers of your data into GIS formats.
