Distance Learning Programs at VCU

Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program

Participation in the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering program, coordinated by VCU, enables students to take additional graduate courses from the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech and Old Dominion University via interactive video telecommunications.

Department of Epidemiology & Community Health

Introduction to Public Health is a 3 credit semester course. This course describes the public health system in the United States and explores the disease prevention and philosophy and foundations of public health management, economics, law, ethics and education. Students examine the use of epidemiology and statistics to determine personal, environmental, and occupational health problems. This course is offer on-line during the Summer semester and in the classroom during the Fall Semester.

Master of Science in Heath Administration

The Master of Science in Health Administration program is a professional program providing a convenient, online format - combined with six on-campus sessions - so that health care professionals working full time can earn a Master of Science in Health Administration from anywhere in the U.S. at anytime in a matter of 22 months.

School of Allied Health Professions

The School of Allied Health offers a variety of programs over the web leading to the degrees of a PhD in Health Related Sciences, a Professional Master of Science in Health Administration, a post-professional Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling. Many courses in all departments are web-enhanced.

School of Business

The School of Business offers computer skills courses over the web. This allows students to take these beginner computer courses at their own pace from wherever is most convenient for them.

SportsCenter

The SportsCenter offers graduate courses online for those students who want to take advantage of the SportsCenter's educational opportunities via the internet. Currently, two classes are available each semester with an ongoing expansion to include more courses and new technologies to enhance the learning experience.
