StarNet's X-Win32

StarNet's X-Win32 is X-Windows software which Virginia Commonwealth University has obtained under a site license agreement with StarNet Communications.  X-Win32 software is used to connect Windows PCs to remote Unix and/or Linux host systems.  The license permits University faculty, staff and students to install X-Win32 for University teaching, research or administrative use.   The license agreement prohibits distribution of copies to anyone else for any other purpose.

X-Win32 is not recommended for off campus use unless:

• you have a cable modem
• you are accessing VCU
• the VCU computer is not blocked for X-Windows

 

To obtain X-Win32:

 

Download, install and configure X-Win32

Upon successful authentication with your VCU eID to verify your University affilation, you will prompted to download X-Win32.  Installation and licensing instructions will be emailed to your VCU email account.
