Getting an IP address automatically on Campus via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) for MAC OS X
Configuring TCP/IP
- Pull down the Apple menu. Choose System Preferences, and select Network.
- The settings should be: Location: Automatic, and Show: Built-in Ethernet.
- Under the TCP/IP tab, setting should be: Configure: Using DHCP.
- Close the window, and save any changes.
Connecting to the Network/Internet
- Once the required settings have been saved and your computer has been restarted, your Mac will automatically request network information from the DHCP server. You can now begin using the Internet by starting your browser and e-mail program.
