Testing
The Blackboard Test Manager allows an instructor to create, modify and remove tests from a course. There are many question display options available, including multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blank, matching, ordering, essay, random block and ten new question types added to this new version of Blackboard. Point values may be assigned to each question. Images, files and external links may be added to a question. The order of the answers may be set to random on the question display. After a test is created and deployed, the test will automatically post to the gradebook.

Scroll down to Test Availability and select Yes at Make the link available. Other test options are available under this screen. Options include allow multiple attempts, force completion, set a timer, a choice of feedback display, random question display and one at a time question display. |
||
| NOTE: The default for Test Options is NOT AVAILABLE. | ||
| IMPORTANT - Set the Test Presentation Mode to One at a Time. This option will help eliminate some potential problems when a student takes a test. The Randomize Questions option is available in this area as well. | ||
NOTE: Avoid using the All at Once Presentation Mode. Students may have difficulty maintaining a connection to the Internet while taking the test. This option does not provide interactivity with Blackboard until the student submits the test, which may trigger the Internet Service Provider to disconnect. If a student disconnects from the Internet while taking a test, the student will be locked out of the test. This will require you to reset the test and the student will need to take the test again. |
||
| |
Click Submit once all options are selected and OK twice to return to the content area. The test will appear at the bottom of the content page and may be moved to the desired location. |
