SPSS Data Entry Builder
What is Data Entry Builder?
As its name suggests, SPSS Data Entry Builder facilitates the entering of data.
With Data Entry Builder, you can:
- Easily design and create forms. A form displays your survey questions on-screen for convenient data entry of each survey respondent or data observation. Forms can also be printed for use as questionnaires.
- Use the same form for on-screen data entry and for printing paper questionnaires, or you can create optimized versions for each.
- Create questions on your form from scratch or copy preformatted questions from question libraries.
- Use data validation procedures to facilitate accurate data entry. For example, you can catch errors before they are entered, such as a male respondent who claims to be pregnant.
- Use skip-and-fill rules to facilitate speedy data entry. For example, you can automatically fill in specific questions based on previous responses.
- Automatically create SPSS data files and dictionaries as you create forms. This helps you structure your questionnaires properly for later analysis, before you send them out. Then, during the data entry phase, the data are stored directly in an SPSS data file, ready for analysis with SPSS software.
