Emerging technologies research grants
for graduate and first professional students

Technology Services, The School of Graduate Studies (GS) and the individual Schools & College at VCU are working together to provide graduate and first professional degree students with Emerging Technology Research Grants of $750. All full-time (at least 9 credit hours) Graduate and first professional degree students are eligible to apply. Grants are funded 1/3 by Technology Services, 1/3 by GS and 1/3 by the student's individual school or the College, so the number of grants available will depend on funds available from the combination of all three funding sources.

Grants are awarded to fund student research projects, using innovative or emerging technologies, in any academic subject relevant to the student's major. Applications are judged by relevance to the student's course of study, innovative uses of technology and feasibility of completion within the timeline. All projects will be displayed as a poster at the spring 2006 Emerging Technologies Day, and the top 3 projects, as judged by innovation and interest to the general University community, will present their projects at the Emerging Technologies Day presentations.

The winners of the 2006 Emerging Technologies Research Grants for Graduate & First Professional Students will be announced at Emerging Technologies Day on April 8, 2005.

See the 2005 grant recipients who will be presenting their posters at the 2005 Emerging Technologies Day.
