Virginia Commonwealth University uses the Blackboard Learning System to facilitate the online instructional interaction between student and professor. The faculty member who would like to create an online course or supplement a traditional course may wish to use Blackboard. The Blackboard Learning System can be used to post announcements, lecture notes, assignments, and a syllabus. Communication tools include discussion forums, online synchronous chat, audio recordings, email, and interactive online classrooms. The assessment features include online quizzing, surveys, Grade Center management, and grade posting (in Blackboard).
Blackboard accounts for course creation are issued to all faculty at VCU. The following steps are recommended to begin working with Blackboard.
