Many teaching spaces on both the Monroe Park Campus and MCV Campus are equipped with multimedia presentation devices for use in classroom instruction, all operated via centralized remote control systems. Technology Services supports the equipment located in general-purpose classrooms (those scheduled through the Registrar's office for use by all departments). Classrooms owned exclusively by one department are serviced by that department.
In most of these rooms, you'll find a podium equipped with all the controls you need to operate all the devices in the room. The standard mini-podium features a PC with the ability to play DVDs and Powerpoint slides and/or access the internet for content. In addition, there is a flip-top control panel with inputs for additional video-enabled devices and laptops, and controls to operate a ceiling-mounted video projector, adjust system volume and raise and lower a motorized screen.
Take a video tour of the features and operation of the mini-podium here:
As TS staff continue the process of upgrading classrooms for digital display, many rooms have been equipped with new digital podiums and 16:9 format projectors and screens. On these podiums, you'll find a Crestron touch panel with multiple menus for controlling your display devices and audio and selecting from available inputs.
